Select from the topics below for more information about dental health:

  • Oral Hygiene

Teeth cleaning is the removal of dental plaque and tartar from teeth to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease. Severe gum disease causes at least one-third of adult tooth loss. Tooth Decay is the most common global disease affecting every family. Over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing cannot reach food left trapped after every meal or snack and saliva or fluoride have no access to neutralise acid and remineralise demineralised tooth. During your visit to the office, please feel free to ask us questions about brushing techniques and we will be more than happy to answer them.

  • Child Dentistry

Many people assume that children develop dental disease at the age of 4 to 6 years. The ADA’s figures show that one half of all 2 year olds already have tooth decay. We use the latest in dental sealant technology to protect your child’s teeth. Dental sealants are space-age plastics that are bonded to the chewing surfaces of decay-prone back teeth. This is just one of the ways we will set the foundation for your child’s lifetime of good oral health.

  • Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal diseases are those diseases that affect the tissues that both surround and support the teeth. Our office specializes in detecting and treating periodontal diseases. Periodontal diseases can cause severe damage to the jaw bones and can release bacteria into the blood stream. Studies have shown that heart disease is almost twice as high in people with gum disease. Studies have also shown that the most common strain of bacteria found in dental plaque may cause blood clots. When blood clots escape into the bloodstream, there is a relation to increased risk of heart attacks, and other heart illnesses. If you have been postponing your appointment with the dentist, please call our office at (408) 223 9600 to schedule your appointment today
